What You Shouldn’t Say To Someone Who’s Grieving (And What To Say Instead)
If a friend or family member loses somebody close to them, it’s never easy to know what to say.
Initially, it’s easier to focus on the practical things, such as getting some sympathy flowers, making sure the bereaved has everything they need and helping with funeral arrangements.
But other than this, there isn’t a rule book of things you should say and while our intentions are always good, we can sometimes end up putting our foot in it and offending or upsetting the person.
So what should and shouldn’t you say to someone who’s grieving?
