Alternative Treats For Mother's Day

Need some inspiration for Mother's Day? We've put our thinking caps on to come up with some different ideas to show just how much you appreciate a special mum this year.

What about vouchers from the whole family for her favourite department store so she can spend an afternoon browsing clothes and bags and shoes and perfumes and anything else that her heart desires without having to worry about the price tag! And after taking Mum out for a splendid afternoon tea or hearty lunch with all the family you could present her with a hamper of delicious things that she really enjoys to eat and drink to make the sentiments of the day last even longer.

If she loves a good coffee or hot chocolate then there are lots of interesting blends readily available in good supermarkets as well as more exotic varieties from specialist outlets. If she's on a special diet then researching alternatives to the things that she misses (gluten free biscuits and pasta, or delicious diabetic chocolates for example) could be a great way to show her how much you think about her welfare. A lovely bottle of special wine and a favourite dessert treat would really top off the whole thoughtful gift too. You can pack the goodies in a recycled and decorated wooden fruit crate or shoebox and include some new family photos and even home-made, hand-drawn Mother's Day cards from the kids or grandchildren.

As for flowers there's a huge choice of stunning floral ideas in our wonderful range specially made for Mum this year including Mother's Day Flowercards, Flowerbaskets, Flowerframes, Teacups and our ever-popular Trugs. If you're struggling for choice then have a look at one of our favourites this year. Mother's Light contains a beautiful peachy-pink Miss Piggy Dutch rose set in a sweet tealight holder, surrounded with carefully picked and contrasting foliage decorated with dainty white flowers and berries. You can personalise the gift with your own message and have it delivered with a selection of handmade chocolates for a truly sumptuous surprise that's sure to show Mum just how much you love her.

Whatever you do, don't forget that this year Mother's Day lands on Sunday 31st March! The date is different each year as it's linked to Easter, but it always falls on the fourth Sunday of Lent.
