When this policy mentions “we,” “us,” or “our,” it refers to Flowercard and all the Flowercard employees responsible for managing and using your information.
How we obtained your data:
As of the 25th May, we will only be only to hold the details of customers who have specifically chosen to be contacted by us via email or post. This means anyone who has opted in via our email preferences webpage, or anyone who checked the ‘contact me’ box at checkout. If you selected any of these options by mistake you can always get in touch and we will delete your details from our database. Our community is very important to us and we want our followers to love their emails.
How long we will hold your details for:
The maximum amount of time we will hold onto your data for is 2 years. This is in case you want to use one of our lovely gifts for the same occasion a year later - e.g; a birthday or anniversary. The 2 year limit is to be sure that you don’t want to use us for your special occasions -- people do forget occasionally!
How we will use your data:
Your data is used for a variety of reasons including; promotional purposes - we want you to be the first to know when we have lovely new arrangements or cards available, so will always email to let you know. We also want to keep improving and adding to our gift selection, so will occasionally email you asking your opinion on new hardware or flowers. Your thoughts are so important to us! We will sometimes use your data for internal review, as we are continually looking to improve our services. We will also sometimes use personal data for retargeting and digital marketing like banner adverts. This is only to show you products and gifts we feel would be of interest. Any personal information - including email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers and payment information - is stored securely in our database. If you share Flowercard content or products on third party sites or social media we are not responsible for any cookies or content that may result from such an action. You have the right to request all information held by us concerning you to be disclosed. After 25th May 2018 (GDPR deadline) you can do this for free. Before then it is at our discretion to charge a small fee for this disclosure.
What we do when removing data:
If you decide to opt out, or the 2 year limit is reached, we will safely and responsibly remove all your details from our system. There will be no record left, but you can always sign up again - we would be happy to have you! Please remember that we would never sell or buy customer data, so your information will never be passed onto third party organisations.

It is a complicated piece of law, but the bottom line is, you should only be receiving emails and catalogues from us if you specifically chose to.
